A Bright Future for Innovation

We are excited to introduce five new faculty members in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. They arrive with excellent training and are quickly adding their creative and innovative ideas in computer systems and artificial intelligence, including in high-impact areas such as design automation, high performance computing, and scalable machine learning and data science. With $10 million in research expenditures in 2020, our School of EECS research programs are thriving. Meanwhile, we continue to see growth in our programs with a doubling of our enrollment in the past five years to more than 1100 undergraduates and 220 graduate students. Our new faculty members are providing significant contributions and the critically important building blocks for a stronger program in the future. We greatly look forward to their efforts in further strengthening our teaching and research programs.
