Cadence Software

A wide variety of Cadence software is used in a number of courses and fields of study at Washington State University. For clarity, we stress the software family is produced by Cadence, the software itself is not called “Cadence.” Students will most commonly have an introduction to the Cadence family of software through Cadence Virtuoso. Students seeking to make use of any available Cadence software within the EECS computing systems should seek information from instructors of courses indicated below.

Key uses include:

  • Custom IC design
  • SiP
  • Digital IC design
  • Verification
  • SPB (PCB)

Courses making use of this software include:

  • EE311 – Electronics
  • EE334 – Computer Architecture
  • EE352 – Electrical Engineering Laboratory
  • EE466 – VLSI Design
  • EE524/CptS651 – Advanced Computer Architecture
  • EE586 – VLSI System Design
  • EE587 – SOC Design and Test
  • EE571 – Advanced Wireless IC Design
  • EE596 – Advanced Analog Circuits
