Biography

Dr. Shuzheng Xie is a Scholarly Assistant Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Washington State University Everett. A dedicated educator, he teaches a variety of upper-division electrical engineering courses and is committed to connecting his teaching with real-world problem-solving. Dr. Xie frequently brings industry into the classroom through guest speakers and site tours and established the WSU Everett Campus Joint Industry Advisory Board to strengthen these ties. He also enhances student learning by advising clubs like the Tau Beta Pi honor society and the IEEE Student Branch at WSU Everett.

His research interests are in atmospheric pressure cold plasma, focusing on applications like the processing of biochar and the inactivation of bacteria. As a graduate faculty member, he co-advises a Ph.D. student and actively mentors undergraduate research projects. Dr. Xie is also an active leader within his professional community, serving as Chair of the WSU Everett Resident Faculty Organization and Chair of the IEEE Seattle Section Education Society. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University.
