Biography
Melissa Luatua is the new Academic Advisor for the VCEA School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at the Bremerton, WA campus. She holds a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Services. With extensive experience in higher education academic advising, non-profit fund management, scholarship and grant administration, and most recently, government contracting with the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS), Melissa brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. Her time at PSNS allowed her to collaborate closely with engineers on shipbuilding projects, deepening her understanding of the engineering field, particularly within the Kitsap County area. Melissa’s strong passion for community engagement and higher education has inspired her return to academic advising, where she is eager to bridge her professional experiences in academia, federal work, and non-profit management to further support students in the region.
