Scholarships
Providing scholarship support for deserving students is a priority at Washington State University. Thanks to the generosity of thousands of private donors, many WSU students receive financial assistance to ensure their success. Scholarship donors receive great satisfaction in knowing that scholarships encourage academic and personal growth, culminating in their scholarship recipient(s) graduating with highly marketable knowledge and skills. Their support pays off, both for our alumni through their careers and life successes, and for WSU's long-term vitality.
The School of EECS offers merit and need-based scholarships for students enrolled on any WSU campus in electrical engineering, computer engineering, and/or computer science programs. Donors may contribute to an existing endowment in any of these areas, create a new named endowment* with a gift of $25,000 or more, or provide annual scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Donors may work with the school director to establish the criteria for those awards.
*A $25,000 endowed scholarship will provide a minimum $1,000 annually to a qualified student (or students) while ensuring continued growth of the fund for an even greater impact in the years ahead.
Those who contribute to undergraduate scholarships tell us there is nothing like the feeling of getting an appreciative note from a student who would not be at the university were it not for this assistance. Join us in helping students realize their dreams and their potential through a gift for scholarships.
If you would like to contribute a scholarship in the School of EECS, please contact Jody Opheim, Assistant Director for External Relations, 509-335-6456 or Casey Hanson, Assistant Director for Corporate Relations, 509-335-8656.
