Creating Connections: A Power Network of People and Technology
Welcome to the first joint meeting of the U.S. INDIA COLLABORATIVE FOR SMART DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WITH STORAGE (UI-ASSIST)
Our theme, Creating Connections, emphasizes the collaborative benefits that are generated from close cooperation among our India and US teams, across our Theme Team groups, between our thirty partnering institutions, and our funding agencies and stakeholders.
Within the US-ASSIST team there are nine universities, three research institutes/labs, eight power utilities and 10 power industry manufacturers/vendors. Together we are addressing large global strategic needs in both India and the United States in mitigating climate change; ensuring mutual energy security; and building clean energy economies that drive investment, job creation, and economic growth. We are developing and aligning our core priorities for relevant and impactful work that will fulfill deliverables to our funding agencies.
The goals of this meeting are to:
- Celebrate our project launch
- Understand our research accomplishments to date
- Build partnerships and collaborations
- Set the course for year 2: opportunities and challenges
We believe that our partnerships and collaborations will play a pivotal role in moving our project agenda forward into the future. We will connect our science to innovation and enterprise, resulting in tangible deliverables for our citizenry. We have the potential to affordably provide direct societal impact and a better quality of life while generating employment and creating overall economic value. We look forward to building our working relationships with productive dialog at our Portland meeting.
