Scholarships

There are a large number of scholarships available for EECS students. Below is just a sample of the scholarships available. Application forms are available in mid-March for currently enrolled students for funds to be awarded the following school year. Contact your academic advisor regarding these scholarship opportunities. Students who are new to WSU will apply for scholarships with their application for admission. Students who are awarded a Dean’s Scholarship through the College of Engineering and Architecture will have it continued by EECS, from the scholarship funds listed below, provided they continue to be eligible for the award.

 

Doug and Loretta Allred Endowed Scholarship in Computer Science

  • For men and women in their freshman or sophomore year
  • Applicants must have at least a 3.5 high school GPA
  • Financial need is also considered

A.L. and Erma Betts Endowed Scholarship for Students in the School of EECS

  • For students in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science
  • Selection is based on merit and financial need

Thomas A. Goodwin Sr. Memorial Scholarship in Electrical Engineering

  • Awarded to seniors specializing in power engineering
  • Intended to reward students who have shown both promise and persistence by helping them finish their degrees
  • Award may be for one or two years as needed, to complete a B.S. degree

Homer J. Dana Endowed Memorial Fund

  • For graduate or undergraduate students in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Must have an accumulated GPA at least equal to the averageof all students in these departments
  • Based on demonstrated practical engineering ability and on financial need

Donald and Gwendolyn Dewey Endowed Scholarship in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

  • For undergraduate students in at least their third year in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
  • Based on merit and financial need
  • Preference is for women with at least a 3.0 GPA

Glen and Juanita Hower Endowed fund for Student Excellence

  • For undergraduate students in the School of Electrial Engineering and Computer Science
  • Can also be used to fund students' out-of-class engineering projects

Chin Shung Hsu Memorial Scholarship in Electrical Engineering

  • For third-year undergraduate students in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
  • Based on both financial need and merit
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA

Meek, Markley, McPhail Endowed Scholarship

  • For juniors and seniors in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
  • Students must demonstrate both financial need and good character

Clifford C. Mosher Endowed Excellence Fund

  • For undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, with preference given to students emphasizing power engineering

David A. Seamans Endowed Excellence Fund

  • For scholarships and fellowships for students in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

David H. Schrader Endowed Scholarship in Electrical Engineering

  • For electrical engineering majors
  • Awards based on merit and financial need
