Introduce concepts and fundamental issues of computer networks.

Topics: 
  • Introduction (3 hrs)
  • Link Layer (Services, error detection & correction, CRC, data link protocols) (6 hrs)
  • MAC Layer (Channel allocation, MAC protocols, Ethernet) (9 hrs)
  • Network Layer (Design Issues, Routing, Internet Routing) (9 hrs)
  • Transport Layer (Socket Programming, Transport Protocols, UDP, TCP) (9 hrs)
  • Application Layer (DNS, Email, WWW) (9 hrs)
  • Wireless Networks (time-permitting)
