The project is conducted by a team of students and experience first-hand different styles of working by different team members. Students receive coaching from the instructor in team skills.

Students overall performed very well on assignments and exams. The following are quantitative measures for each assignment and exam:

HW 1 - average: 95%;
HW 2 - average 96%;
HW 3 - average: 98%;
HW 4 - average: 92%;
HW 5 - average: 98%;
HW 6 - average: 93%;
HW 7 - average: 85%.
Exam 1 - average: 87%;
Exam 2 - average: 85%;
Final Exam - average: 81%.
Term paper - average: 86%.

Note that the average on exams and homeworks were in the B range or higher.

With the three teams two functioned well. The third had some significant team dynamics issues that included poor attendance at group or manager meetings and a lack of reliability. All students were able to appropriately partitioned work for the project, communicate effectively with each other and their mentors. There was a small amount of a lack of respect for how each of them approached their work. This was discussed with the team in question at mid term, and some progress was made at improving the team dynamics.

Students have an option to work as a team to complete the semester project.

All project deliverables are created in teams of two to four students

The final results from project 2 were used to assess this outcome. Again, all students met the expectations for this initial offering of the course.
