  • MAC Layer (channel allocation, MAC protocols, Ethernet)  (9)
  • Network Layer (design issues, routing, internet routing)  (9)
  • Transport Layer (socket programming, transport protocols, UDP, TCP)  (9)
  • Application layer (DNS, email, WWW)  (9)
  • Wireless networks (time-permitting)

Computer Usage: 

Students are required to complete approximately three programming assignments during the semester. These assignments are of moderate complexity and involve the implementions of networked applications or protocols.
