About the Donor

This is the new name for the endowed GTE Electrical Engineering Fund. In 1984, following a visit to the college by member representatives from the American Electronics Association, General Telephone of the Northwest (GTE) responded to a proposal to fund scholarships in three different colleges of WSU.  In the College of Engineering and Architecture, these were targeted for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.  Shortly thereafter, the Moscow-Pullman GTE office donated an 8.7-acre parcel of land on the Moscow-Pullman Highway.  The sale of this land was placed into an endowment to meet this commitment. The endowment was signed in 1985.

All expenditures from this fund shall be to further the efforts of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (now included in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) at WSU.  Such expenditures may include, but are not limited to, scholarships and fellowships for electrical engineering students, equipment, faculty enrichments, student professional activities, and research.
