Points of Pride

 

  • US News and World Report ranks the Electrical Engineering graduate program at WSU 68th among approximately 180 PhD granting EE programs in the U.S.

  • The School of EECS Power Systems Engineering program is ranked 11th nationally in research expenditure.

  • EECS's world-class faculty includes a member of the National Academy of Engineering and six Fellows of national professional societies such as IEEE and Institute of Physics, as well as a Regent Professor in the department.

  • EECS graduate students have been nationally recognized, including

    • two National Science Foundation (NSF) Fellowship recipients,

    • one Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Fellowship recipient, and

    • three NSF Honorable Mention awards.

  • Approximately 50% of our new graduate students in the last four years have been U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

  • School of EECS has a research-active MS program that feeds its PhD program: Approximately 90% of our MS students choose the thesis option degree and present a paper at a national or international conference. In 2006, three students received "best paper" awards in such conferences.

  • The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is proud to be one of the first electrical engineering programs in the northwest to offer a new industry-sponsored course in Renewable Energy.
