NOTICE OF VACANCY: Power Engineering, Clinical Professor/Instructor (non-tenure track) [Search #4987]
The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Washington State University is soliciting applications and nominations for a full-time non-tenure-track academic year (nine months) position at the Assistant/Associate Professor or Instructor level in the area of power engineering. The appointment will begin August 16, 2008. Salary will be commensurate with experience and rank. This will be primarily a teaching oriented position with focus on teaching courses and laboratories in several of the following topics: power system analysis, electromechanical machines, power system protection, power electronics, renewable energy, and capstone design project. Teaching load is expected to be six courses per academic year. The appointment will be on a three-year renewable contract.
The School of EECS has excellent computing facilities and a dedicated systems staff to assist faculty with computer and laboratory set-up and operation.
Applicants must have earned a Masters degree by August 16th, 2008 (a Ph.D. degree is preferred) in Electrical Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in teaching the power system courses or with prior experience in power industry in the above-mentioned areas.
