The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Washington State University is soliciting applications and nominations for a permanent full time (academic year)  tenure track faculty position in Computer Science. The position will be at the assistant professor level, beginning August 16, 2008.  Salary will be commensurate with experience and rank. All candidates must be committed to building an active research program. The successful candidate will be expected to teach, effectively communicate and interact with students and colleagues, conduct funded research, publish, and direct MS and PhD student research programs

The School of EECS has excellent computing facilities and a dedicated systems staff to assist faculty with computer and laboratory set-up and operation. The School offers junior faculty a reduced teaching load for the first three years of their appointment, and an effort is made to have new faculty teach a graduate course in their area of expertise within the first one or two years of their appointment.

Applicants must have a strong record of achievement in academia and/or industry and must have earned a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or in a closely related field by August 16, 2008. Candidates must have a strong interest in conducting publishable research and a strong commitment to teaching. Applicants in the areas of networking and communication (including wireless and sensor networks); high performance computing; and computational modeling will be given the highest priority.
